iSoccer is Now an Official Technical Development Partner of Own Touch
San Francisco, CA and Rockville, VA – Own Touch and iSoccer are pleased to announce their new partnership to help raise the technical level of youth soccer players in Virginia.
In its commitment to player development, Own Touch’s philosophy is that a focus on individual technique at a young age is key to the future of soccer in Virginia, and the country as a whole. To aid in this mission, Own Touch has identified iSoccer as a vital partner. The San Francisco based company has developed an on-field assessment and online training platform, which helps make technical development fun, engaging and measurable.
“We are excited to start using iSoccer with our Mentorship Program, and set an example for the rest of our players,” says President and Co-Founder, Greg Simmonds. “iSoccer gives our coaches the ability to track and monitor improvement, while motivating players at the same time. It is a valuable resource for any level of coach or player.”
“We are looking forward to working with Greg and all the staff at Own Touch. This partnership is another great step forward in our campaign to raise the standards of youth soccer in the entire country,” says iSoccer founder and CEO Scott Leber.

(April 2012)
A very special Charity event was held at the Own Touch Futsal Center last weekend. We were honored to participate, please take a moment to read the letter below to ALL involved:
Hello Everyone,
Brandon and I just wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for supporting the tournament for Tyler this past weekend. The weekend was a huge success and everyone seemed to have a great time, Everything seemed to so smoothly that I know God and Tyler were with us. Even the weather shifted to make it a gorgeous weekend. We had some teams run short for various reasons and kids jumped in to ensure the games went on schedule. It was wonderful to see everyone there in full support of the event.
The TV was won by a very sweet couple. The gentleman came up to me afterwards teary eyed and said he did not do anything to deserve a TV and made a generous donation to the event. So I know it was placed in the right hands. :0) !
Overall we were able to raise a great deal of money for the Davidson's and should be able to cover the full funeral and most if not all medical deductibles with over $12, 000 raised after all the remaining auction items are picked up and paid for.
We can not thank you enough for supporting the event for the Davidson Family. It was wonderful to walk in the building and hear the kids all laughing and having fun during the games.
Tyler will be missed, but never forgotten! Fly High Tyler!

Coach Greg Simmonds and Coach Trevor Spencer earn USSF "A" Licenses
The Richmond Strikers Director of Boys Travel Trevor Spencer and U13 Elite coach and Own Touch Founder Greg Simmonds both recently earned their USSF “A” licenses. Spencer and Simmonds, former Jamaican High school and Youth National teammates, are two very accomplished coaches who do outstanding work in their roles at the Richmond Strikers Soccer Club.
Coach Simmonds and Spencer were born in the same year in Jamaica with one thing in common- a strong love for soccer (Football in Jamaica). These two gentlemen were opponents and competitors during their Primary and Prep schools All-Star games. Both coaches began their high school career playing for one of the top soccer schools in Jamaica (St. George’s College).
Trevor and Greg complimented each other on the field where they won numerous soccer championships together. Both players took their talents to the next level as they both represented Jamaica’s youth national teams, traveling the world, and over the years, have developed a great relationship on and off the field. After high school, both Spencer and Simmonds headed to the US to attend and play at Division 1 Universities where they were successful. Trevor represented Lindsey Wilson and Virginia Commonwealth and Greg represented Howard University.
Destiny would lead both coaches to the Richmond Strikers where they are enjoying teaching the game to the next generation of "ballers". If you ever see Coach Spencer or Simmonds around the park, don’t hesitate to ask what soccer has done for them. By the way, those Jamaican coaches have the coolest accents you will ever hear!
Great job to Coach Trevor and Greg for earning their “A” licenses – keep up the good work!
